Drug Intervention Programme
The Drug Intervention Programme (DIP) is a key part of the government’s strategy for tackling drugs and reducing crime. We work with people whose substance misuse problem has brought them into the criminal justice system. DIP’s work to get people out of crime and into treatment this work is supported by the fact £1 spent on drug treatment saves £9.50 on health and crime costs.
We will work with people through the criminal justice system providing interventions
* In the community
* Within Scarborough custody suite
* In courts
* At probation
* At prison inreach, and
* After release (aftercare)
We offer drug users the opportunity to access specialist drug interventions and rapid prescribing alongside a range of lifestyle issues including housing, employment, and health to enable people to move away from crime and into treatment.
