The Cambridge Centre has run a mobile syringe exchange scheme since 2002.  The first scheme was developed as a three year project funded by Communities Against Drugs money to help to address issues of rural drug use and access to services.  The project quickly developed to be useful in urban areas also and at the end of the initial three year period, funding was picked up by North Yorkshire DAAT.

The mobile scheme has developed over the years and now offers a home delivery and collection service, as well as an assertive on foot outreach programme, and a sited service around Scarborough centre and at other locations dependent on client need for information about availability and to organise an exchange or collection please contact Rachael.  The mobile service has an excellent rate of return (well over 100%) and is a vital element of needle and syringe services across Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale.
