Needle Exchange

Needle and syringe exchange services are a vital strand of a multi agency harm reduction strategy.

The NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) guidance on the supply of needles and syringes states that a broad range of injecting equipment should be made available; "supply should not be limited but should meet the needs of the individual".

This ensures that there will be a good availability of clean equipment and makes it considerably less likely that service users will need to re-use or share injecting equipment.

Cambridge Centre needle exchange services are quality assured and managed through a robust clinical governance framework, this framework is informed by the NICE guidance and published NTA (National Treatment Agency) guidance on the provision of needle and syringe exchange.
